I wasn't led to openly share this word until now. It was what was given to me in service earlier in August and made the notes in my notebook: “I Am Stirring the Waters”
During worship on August 3rd, 2025, my eyes were drawn to the baptism tub. As I began to focus in I saw ripples in the water, and I heard the Spirit of the Lord say:
“I am about to stir the waters! I am about to tear down altars built to Baal and built by man. Anything not of Me will not stand! My Spirit is moving and foundations are being broken up and shaken, but I am making ready the hearts of My people.”
In the Spirit, I saw a dove hovering over the waters, reminding me of Genesis 1:2— “And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” I also saw the ground shaking and trembling, like Hebrews 12:27-28, where it says God will shake what can be shaken, so only what is unshakable will remain.
This is a season where the Lord Himself is stirring the waters of baptism, renewal, and consecration. He is removing the man-made, tearing down the idols, and preparing His bride. Just like in John 5:4, when the angel stirred the waters and healing came, the Lord is stirring hearts for healing, deliverance, and a deeper encounter with Him.
Be encouraged, when God stirs the waters, it’s not to destroy His people but to prepare them, cleanse them, and fill them afresh with His Spirit. The shaking is not to harm you, but to make room for His glory!
Encouragement:If you’ve felt the ground trembling beneath you in this season, don’t fear. God is removing false supports so you can stand firmly on Him, the Rock that cannot be moved. He is making your heart ready for the greater things He has promised. The dove of His Spirit is hovering, waiting to rest on those who yield.
Father, we welcome You to stir the waters in our lives, our families, and our churches. Tear down every altar that was not built for You. Shake away what is temporary so only what is eternal remains. Prepare our hearts to be holy, surrendered, and ready for Your glory. Let the fire of Your Spirit purify us, and let the dove of Your Spirit rest upon us. In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.
